A mountain that unites us
The Repubblica delle Foreste is a bold endeavour born from the collaboration between the municipalities of Pieve Santo Stefano and Badia Tedalda.
This initiative, the fruit of commitment and collaboration, has been selected for funding under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).
We aim to transform a land rich in history and nature into a laboratory for urban regeneration, sustainability and community growth.
Through 4 key objectives, the project aims to lay the foundations of a strong and dynamic community.

We illuminate the past with an eye to the future, breathing new life into historic sites and interactive museums, and enhancing slow, sustainable tourism in the Alpe della Luna nature reserve.

Il “Tortello della Pieve”
Il “Tortello della Pieve” (traditional stuffed pasta from Pieve Santo Stefano) At the heart of the Repubblica delle Foreste, this project aims to elevate the Tortello di Pieve Santo Stefano — a traditional stuffed pasta — from a simple local dish to a distinctive culinary symbol. The DOP (Protected Designation of Origin) trademark registration will not only safeguard its unique recipe but will open new opportunities for the local community.
